DPF Warning Light

Is the car driving in limp mode?

If not, then worth giving it a good blast on the motorway to clear/burn off the DPF soot, otherwise, its likely clogged up and will either need cleaning manually or you could need a new DPF altogether.

Hi Dark night.I had my CRV 2.2 idtec cleaned by terra clean dpf light with exclamation mark came back on 3 weeks later.Took it back when reset it just comes back on again after start driving again.Whats the story you are saying about switching on and off the ignition to reset the ecu.Does this work what's the sequence
Hi and welcome.

When you had your DPF cleaned, did the company you use also reset the ECU to clear any electronic memory of soot particulates too? Because if not, the system may well think its clogged even if the DPF is not.

ECU is the only one I can think of.

If they maintain the DPF is clear, then its very likely the ECU hasnt been updated/reset/reconfigured to account for the DPF being cleaned - hence why the ECU is forcing limp mode and the warning.

Think I would be tempted to disconnect the engine battery for say 15mins in a blind hope that this action clears/ resets the ECU. Nuffin ventured, nuffin gained
Wont work.

If the DPF has been cleaned and the ECU has not been recalibrated to show that the DPF is soot-free, then disconnecting the battery wont cure it I'm afraid. ECU needs to be properly reset.
