A few weeks ago I took my 2017 EX-L AWD to the dealer for an oil change (MM came on at the 15% as expected and threw A1 code). Had it done and tires rotated since it had been about 8,000 miles since last time.
They also indicated that I should also do the coolant flush, transmission fluid, and rear diff fluids soon (all for $150 a pop). Price aside, I'm wondering did they actually check the fluids or just going off the miles and age? The car is 5 1/2 years old now and only 48,000 miles total (low annual miles in recent years thanks to pandemic and it being mainly my kids' car now and they are off at college with the car at home).
I did the rear diff fluid at 18K miles 4 years ago and the trans fluid just back at 35K miles 2 years ago (both at the same dealer). Coolant though I have never changed. But I question if they even inspected the fluids or are just going off the old maintenance books per mileage.
What do you think? Doesn't it seem too soon for the rear diff and trans fluids? Should I just trust the MM as I always have? Thanks!
