Depends on which state the vehicle is registered in.
Just a note. Fuel injectors are an emission related deal. Emission fixes should be free for the first 8 years of ownership. Check for that before shelling out $ to have any emissions related issue repaired.
You should always use “Top Tier” gas brands as recommended in your User Manual for that very reason. Higher Octane fuel will not help.Question for the community...after having the injectors replaced, should I start getting gas from like an Exxon/Mobile/Shell gas since they put cleaning detergents in their gas? I normally get my gas from a BJs Warehouse. Or get a higher octane if I get it from a alternate gas station like a 89/91/93? Thanks and look forward to all replies.
Please don't take the below post as word nit-picking...but just wanted to expand on what you wrote:
I don't believe that Honda Recommends Top Tier fuel - they only Endorse its use.
Funny then that most manufacturers continue to specifically recommend Top Tier.In the US, the EPA has required the use of detergents in ALL gasoline sold in the US since 1996.

This study post dates the 1996 EPA requirement, so it seems there is some measurable benefit to using TT, vs meets min EPA standard. In the US, the EPA has required the use of detergents in ALL gasoline sold in the US since 1996.

You can not have confidence in anything you see or don’t see reported on CarFax. It’s totally dependent on what information was provided, if provided, and how things were documented. This thread has been incredibly helpful. Im in the market for a used CRV. Does anyone know if this repair would show up on a carfax report of a vehicle with all of its maintenance services done at a dealership? If so, what would the recorded entry read as?
That’s the unanswerable question. It depends how, and if, it was reported. Although you can probably safely assume if it says “Fuel Injector Replacement”, it probably was. 😉Thank you for your reply. I agree with the innacuracies of a carfax report. All of the CRV's i have looked ata so far have service records on the carfax reports. Just wondering if the fuel injector issue would be reported, or would it just appear as "maintenance".
