I am having a different motor and trans put in my '99 CRV. The mechs went to see if it would start today...NO : (
Here is what they found. It is an AT CRV and the lever seems like it is stuck in P....position wise. The gear indicator says that it is 1st. The lever will not move. They have stepped on the brake and nothing. They have shifted it manually below, on the outside. I would think, that if it was in 1st, that it would at least shift back into D...yes/no?
Any ideas? I did a search and one thread suggested a broken brake-light switch.
