Hello all,
Maybe a stupid question, buy I was informed my 4 year old starter battery is low on charge and should be recharged/topped up before winter (CCA was still good, battery tested good). I unfortunately do not have an owners manual and cannot locate a place to out the ground clamp (negative). As per the user guide of the smart charger, the clamp needs to be placed on a non painted body surface or bolt, but I cannot locate such place. Would you know where I could connect the negative terminal to? This is for a 2012 2.2 dtec.

I used the strut tower bolts. The funny part is that the battery shows fully charged at home. At the shop

I ended up pulling the strut tower covers off and using the bolts.

I use the idler pulley base. It sticks out, and there are recesses in the base for the clamp to bite on.
