I'm trying to troubleshoot my daughter-in-law's 2006 CR-V.
The issue is when you insert the key into the driver's door lock cylinder and turn the key clockwise to unlock the door, you can feel the lock mechanism pushing on the key trying to turn it back (counterclockwise) as the vehicle tries to (re)lock itself.
If you hold the key turned clockwise, the car cycles through "autolock" a couple times (two, three, four, six, nine times... with all the doors' lock mechanisms making noises) then finally gives up and allows the driver's door to stay unlocked.
Just replaced the driver's door lock acuator with one I bought off of Amazon, but the problem remains exactly the same.
I'm wondering what to do next to troubleshoot the problem.
Note: There is no issue unlocking the passenger door with the key. There is no issue with the master door lock switch on either door. There is no issue unlocking the driver's door with the key fob (a.k.a. remote transmitter)
Key fob unlock button one press: LIGHTS FLASH TWICE, DRIVER"S DOOR UNLOCKS
Key fob unlock button second press: LIGHTS FLASH TWICE BUT NO OTHER DOORS UNLOCK
Key fob lock button: WORKS - LIGHTS FLASH ONCE ALL DOORS LOCK
Key fob hatch glass release; WORKS
Key fob panic button: WORKS
