I recently added a rack system made by Adventure Truck to my 2006 CRV. I have not seen anyone with this rack on this forum so I though I'd share if anyone is considering one.
My family and I like to be outdoors and camp near all the springs we have here in Florida, but we are also planning a 2 week road trip up to Maine, Vermont, and New Hampshire in the fall and I wanted a roof top set up that could support the weight of us up there, while being quick to set up camp and pack up. This rack I believe is rated for 600 pounds static capacity and 200 pounds while underway. Adventure Truck offers these in steel or aluminum and they are powder coated black. I went with the aluminum and it was shipped and arrived quickly, the instructions were clear and detailed albeit did take a couple hours to get it installed. I've had it on now for about a month and while I don't notice anymore wind noise than before I did lose about 1 mpg on the highway. The build quality seems great and is rock solid on the car. I love the look of this rack on our 2nd gen, and seemed like a better option than some of the universal platform systems that use vehicle specific mounting feet - this one was designed and only fits on the 2nd gen CRV, they also make one for the Element as well. I'll report back after our first trip overnight with our roof top tent, but so far so good, very happy with this upgrade.
