I would like to use my 64gb bluetooth mp3 player, however the bluetooth feature in the head unit seems to only pair with smartphones and no other bluetooth devices. I prefer not to use a streaming platform nor store music files on my phone.
I was able to connect the mp3 player to the usb port and use it for an entire hour long trip for the first day or two. But since then, I get a device not connected error after playing a song for a few seconds. After some research, the only thing I discovered is that the head unit is only compatible with FAT32 instead of exFat usb storage devices (i.e. anything over 32gb). Any idea on why it would work perfectly fine one day and then not connect anymore?
I also experienced many smart phone disconnections (iphones, samsung, google pixel) even after trying different cables. Apple Carplay and Android Auto would start up initially but cut out during the trip. It is annoying trying to get the navigation connected again while driving, so I usually end up leaving it disconnected and holding my phone for mobile gps. May have to get a wireless Android Auto car adapter for that.
