Revs staying high when clutch down ?

Hi, CRV 2004 petrol manual. I have had the car for 2 years and noticed recently that the revs stay quite high when clutch pedal held down and coasting.
The car starts, drives and idles perfectly but if I depress the clutch and coast onto my drive the revs stay high ( about 2000 ) and settle down to normal after a few seconds. I first thought my big feet were pressing the brake and accelerator together but that is not the case.
Also tested while driving if I depress the clutch and coast the revs stay high for a few seconds before dropping. Is this normal behaviour and I just haven't noticed it previously ?
Not very familiar with the 2004 but have you tried cleaning the throttle body? Sounds like something might be sticking.
