I have a 2018 CRV and noticed the sun visors after a couple of years is not longer able to close up all the way to be flush with the cabin ceiling. I already had both replaced under warranty but now it is happening again. Does anyone else have this issue? I wonder how to get this fixed once and for all since I am now out of warranty.

Mine physically fell down and hung by it's wires a couple times. Both times was replaced by warranty. Both times were because it had a bent part from the factory (or so I was told). This last one is still working good.

I tqken a look at ours 4 years old and looks good, the bar has a flat spot, and did not realize it extends out.
Living in AZ where we have a lot of sun, sliding sunvisors have become a purchase requirement for us.

Picture posted in thread. Thanks

Thanks for the demo. So in my 2018 CRV, it no longer locks back in place. Any suggestions on how to fix it? It's been already replaced once by warranty, and now I'm out of warranty. This is the highest it can go back in place.

If off warranty, I suggest:

1. Remove and drip Vibra-TITE into the pivot.

OR

2. Secure the visor to the headliner with a spot of Velcro.
How you do you do #1? Is there a video or diagram on how to do it? Thanks

I "liked" your post, not because you don't have the sliding visors, but because you posted you findings.

It seems there are more and more little things that add up to make me happy we purchased the higher priced Touring model. :)

Not everyone cares about these things, but it is good that Honda gives us some choice.

Have 2018 CRV Touring, drivers sun visor wouldn’t close flat. Spoke with service advisor while having another warranty issue addressed and he ordered a replacement visor. A week later, a call to get installed and was in & out in less 30 mins. No cost, covered by warranty.

There are many approaches to how to solve this problem
Some go from the most expensive of replacement with new part from Honda
To the cheap fixes of Velcro or a 2 inch paper clip
The Velcro can go on the visor and stick to the ceiling fabric
Or it can go on the shaft just inside of the visor
The paper clip acts to hold the visor tightly onto the shaft
Have seen people use screws and a decorative nut to hold the visor tight on the shaft
The preferred method is replacement
but not everyone wants to spend hundreds to fix the sun visor
A search on youtube can illustrate those methods much better

Same thing happened on my dad's Accord. Got a replacement from my local dlr. Guy in parts gives me a good discount. I think I paid around $105 but that's for the entire visor. Works like a charm now.

It's just disturbing that even the replacements failed after 1.5 years. It's also sagging on the passenger side too. Hard to believe no one else has this problem? I feel like it's a manufacturer's defect?!?!

Hi
My 2019 Australian model now 2 yrs old is on it s third driver s side (Right hand) visor replaced under warranty.. My problem is the visor drops from the full forward position after a few bumps on the road. Each visor has done the same from the beginning. I' ve given up and accept the shortcoming now.
Anyone else manage a "fix"?

I have the exact same problem. Same vehicle. I took the plastic clamshell apart & found the pocket that the torsion spring fits in ha had sheared & was not supporting the spring. I bought a C-clip, used to fix Accord/Civic visors, that backs up the pocket. But I can't get the visor to rotate, with or without the clip. Suggestions? What did you finally do? Can't figure how to make it rotate.

I added some silicon grease. It only made it a little smoother but still will not close all the way. I suspect something broke inside like you verified. Looks like it will be temporary till the whole thing starts falling down and blocks your vision. Unfortunately, I don't have a fix yet. I may be having to replace the whole thing but it would suck to have to do it every 2 years.

I know some have said the binder clip method looks ugly but it has worked well for at least 5 years on the Civic. It may or may not work in your situation but thought I would provide some insight. I was frustrated the visor would droop down. Got a replacement visor from Honda using the warranty back then and then the visor failed again. So I did this binder clip method and it has lasted.
