Some manufacturers use an LED Projector Beam style, the headlight housing on those look very similar to the Halogen Projector Beam that is on the LX, EX, EX-L CR-V but the light is brighter and more white than Halogen. The Touring uses Honda's LED Jewel headlamps which are several small individual LED lenses, same as on the Acura products.

My understanding of the variation between the Acura and Honda use of LED headlights is that Acura uses the LED Jewel (small individual lense in front of each LED) and Honda uses LEDs housed in individual reflectors. There are no jewel lenses in the Honda touring models.

I found the LED headlight assemblies cheaper on Hondapartsnow.com, around $750/side with hardware but still that's $1,500 in headlights.

Also, you should be able to edit your posts after 5-10 forum posts, not sure why the moderators on this forum set it up that way but if you post a few more times you will get editing privileges.
That would be silly, in that case get a Touring.

Just checked out both EX and Touring and not as bright as my replacement on my 06 Ody with this one http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/UltraHIDKit.
Just having bright light is useless, all it does is obstruct on coming drivers and bright light is just close by- does not help with actual driving for distance etc- not to mention it is illegal and get ticketed

There is far more than brightness to lighting up what's in front of you. I bought a brand new Mercedes E class with premium 2 package back in 2008. It had Bi-Xenon active headlights. Most people thought they were awesome - except for when it was raining. It'll be good to finally get some hopefully objective information about headlights. There are a lot of people making mistakes on changing their headlight bulbs, thinking they're going to see better, but actually just following a fad and reducing safety. I have no idea how good the Honda LEDs are. Hopefully they really perform well.

My better half has a 2007 Acura TSX. I don't know what the headlights are but the light is much whiter than any of my lesser expensive vehicles headlights have been. It also lights the road better. That's what I want although I'm not certain how to get it. My 2016 EX headlights are the typical not white, slightly yellowish, not very good unless on high beam lights you get on most under $30k vehicles.

I have a Touring and some one asked me about the brightness. I really can't say it's anything but ordinary. I'll admit; I was spoiled by my s2000 for many years, which had projection lights that were just amazing. Another thing about the Touring is the automatic brights, which I use; so when you really may need additional lighting (fewer vehicles to follow and poor to no street lighting), you get it from the brights.

Yeah I like the auto brights on my EX L too, they are quick to switch back to low and I like the shape of the light down the road, pulls in animal eyes, and even indistinct highway signs look clearer.

I've had an S2000 for over 16 years now and yes, the Xenon HID projector beams have always been a nice to have feature in the car. It always felt that much more special when you flipped on the Xenon lights, and they came on warming up to the full blue/white brightness with the very distinct beam pattern that stepped down on the passenger side as to not blind oncoming drivers. When I first got the car, many oncoming drivers would flash their high beams at me because my lights were so bright. That really doesn't happen anymore as people have adjusted to seeing cars with brighter than normal headlights. When we pick up our Touring I think we are going to really like having the LED headlights.

On a side note, our 2004 CR-V with regular old halogen reflector lamps is fine. I never think, "Gee, I wish the headlights were brighter." So I would expect the LX, EX, and EX-L headlamps are perfectly fine.

That's right, I have a new touring and the led lights are nice for the driver and nice for the person coming toward you or in front of you. I drive at night and the reflector lights especially on trucks and higher vehicles can be blinding. LED lights are awesome for the driver and also better for the other folks on the road.

I have an EX and have tried several expensive led headlights but they all are worse than the stock halogens. H9 conversion nets you more light however it's still not the white led light that everyone is after.

has anyone swapped the touring headlight units into an EX?
I have the touring lights on our ex, wasn’t hard if you’ve worked on a car before.
A few members have done it here.
I did ours when i had the front end off for the sport bumpers and upgraded horns.

They are definitely brighter than stock (not as crisp as our 15 mdx)
But in our new home the streets are very dark so i did thr swap and installed some yellow leds in the fogs

I hunted clean used sets of lights, stacked with ebay coupons and ebay bucks
There are a ton of broken tabbed ones which you need to avoid, the placement of them in the front end after doing the install you can 100% see why rhe posts snap easily even on small impacts!

Was the wiring harness the same or did you need any adaptors? I know the plugs on the LED lights are different but I did see some plugs capped off... wondering if that's all I need!
