I have 2016 CrV ExL which currently has 89000 miles on it. I have changed the transmission fluid when it was on 62000 miles. But now i m gettiing code on maintenance minder for changing the transmission fluid. So should i go for it? Or change it when it hits 100000 miles? I rotate my tire on a regular basis but still alwys got the notification on maintenance minder even after resetting! Should I consider transmission fluid notification same?

You want it to last - do it every 25000 to 30000 miles. If you do it yourself it is less than $50.
You cannot replace the transmission filter without disassembling the transmission.
Never power flush a Honda transmission - it destroys the built in filter.
I got 295000 miles on my Accord before it was totaled by my grandson.
Yes - original automatic - fluids every 30,000 miles. Still shifted great. new front end components at 200,000 miles - timing belts at 55,000 miles.
gaskets at 100,000 mile intervals.

Not correct on the CVT filter exactly, there is a cartridge filter in the heat exchanger which is the real filter. The filter in the transmission is basically a screen for large chunks. But I also change my CVT fluid about every third oil change and the filter every third fluid change. Filter part #25450-P4V-013. Even if this was a 5 speed trans there is an inline filter on the back of the transmission below the air filter box.

My Honda mechanic says he has never replaced that filter in 15 years. The shop manual says you get a p code if the filter is restricted or clogged.
His take is your transmission is toast if the filter has any debris on it. It has disintegrated. Proper fluid changes and examination of the magnet on the drain plug will show the health of the transmission.
His buddy in the next bay said that he has to replace that filter on every transmission replacement to follow Honda warranty requirements. That is the only time he has done any.
My mechanic friend does the engines and suspensions mostly - he is not the transmission guy - he would rather work on motocross engines but there is no money in that. His buddy is the transmission guy - I watched him take a Ford F150 transmission apart and put it back with new insides in 30 minutes - he did it by feel - he once did Dodge transmission for a living then Ford transmissions - the rebuild place he worked at had a fire and never reopened. He has been at the Honda dealer since 2004.

You do have to take a lot of the CR-V apart to get to the heat exchanger where the filter is.

I agree that fluid transfer machine is not a power flush. I still do the drain and fill - always have in the past.
