So do you think or know if the control unit will be present on all cars even without the USB from factory or likely be built into a harness and only possible if specced with it originally?

Guess I’ll take a look behind the controls anyway see if I can see anything, if not will forget the idea of it being anyway useful.

 

Most likely you will have to buy the usb unit +wire harness+ possible radio if you press source do you get usb option?

 

It’s impossible to find any decent information on it, no wiring diagrams or information from the service or parts manuals. Also would have thought it would be somewhere in the car manual as I can’t imagine them making a unique book or what for the ones that came with the USB as it wouldn’t have made business sense.

Any idea what the middle module would be or look like?

No USB option in menu but I’d imagine it wouldn’t appear until it picks it up through the module, again can’t imagine they made limited 2VN0 or 2VN3 units just with USB but that’s a guess and without a book or something to investigate more it might stay like that lol

 

Does it come with the navigation option?

Service manual? I don't think the down load version is real complete, the paper manuals I think are 4 thick books. Also the down load may not have been the one that covers 2010 and 2011, I don't know.

I think I’ve found some pictures that might help, but it looks like there’s a trail of parts needed and even at the end of it the car might not have the correct connection to go into the network box. The box can be had for pretty cheap on eBay and the grey connector I was asking about on the first post goes into one of the slots but it’s whatever plugs into the other one that’s the question if it exists in the car behind the dash as a spare for use with that option.
