Voltage too low?

My son has a 2016 CR-V. It drove fine for him on Tuesday. Tuesday evening he parked it at his apartment. Wednesday evening he started it fine, drove to a gas station, and shut it off. When he tried to turn it on again at the gas station it would run for about 1 second and then die. It got to where it finally wouldn't crank at all - just clicks.

I had it towed to my house. It had a 3-year battery that was 3 years old, so I put a new battery in it. It starts and runs fine. But when running my volt meter is only registering about 13.3 volts. That's more than the battery can do by itself, so the alternator is doing something. But all my other cars put out 14.5 or so while running.

Does his car have an alternator problem? I'm not sure what to do here. I appreciate any advice.

Thanks,

Matt

Turn the headlights on, this will force Honda's Dual mode charging to 14.5 volts.
