As the title says, what are the best online stores to buy Genuine Honda fluids and parts from?

I like to maintain any vehicle I own very well to keep it reliable, and avoid costly problems if spending some now means avoiding bigger problems later.

I have 24,200 miles on my 2016 CR-V EX now, and will be using it very little until the weather turns nice in the spring. I plan to do 3 drain and fills of the CVT with driving some between each to mix the old fluid with new in the spring and the mileage should be around 25K by then.

I was happy to find that there is an online Genuine Honda fluid and parts supplier named Bernardi Parts, and that I can buy Honda fluids, wiper blades, engine air filters, cabin air filters, PCV valve, and any other parts I want at prices less than what a dealer charges.

Recently I found that there are several other online stores that sell Honda fluids and parts.

While most of them show lower prices than Bernardi, I have not found out if these other places cost a lot for shipping. And there may be some questions about them listing items they do not have in stock, resulting in unspecified delays. And there is also the concern of there items being Genuine Honda, or some counterfeit knockoff. As the old saying goes, if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is.

Here is an example of some of the online stores that sell Honda fluids and parts:

Bernardi Parts
Hondapartsonline.net
Hondapartsnow.com
cheaperhondaparts.com
www.oempartsource.com
Hondaconnection.com

And there most likely are a few I have not yet found.

As an example, for 3 drains and fills of my AWD CVT I will need 14 quarts of the Honda CVT fluid 08200-HCF2, crush washers, and might buy new wiper blades, and engine air filter, cabin air filter.

The prices vary some, for example the CVT fluid sells from $9.86 per quart to $7.66 per quart, and the stores that are lower cost for the fluid are also lower in cost for other items.

I am looking for the lowest cost place to buy Genuine Honda fluids and parts from when shipping is included in the final price.

Are there any online stores to avoid because they may be selling counterfeit parts, or have too long of a delay in shipping, or charge too much for shipping?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, the bottom line is: what store(s) is/are the best to buy from to get low prices when shipping is included in the final price, and get Genuine Honda fluids and parts from in a timely manner?

You have done your homework! :giggle:

It is difficult to answer your question because shipping costs might vary to various parts of the country.

The dealers will sell you OEM parts unless they show both. No reports of counterfeits.

i don't get why you are wanting to do 3 drain/refills on your CVT. i did a drain/refill on my civic every 35K-40K miles, worked fine. car has 150K miles on it now. no issues whatsoever. did a drain/refill at 50K on my daughter's '16 CR-V (she bought it certified used at 38K), i had told her let's spend the money now to get it done and this way, we know it's been done and when.

but, if you want to, let it be done.

Bernardi looks pretty good, but my independent service dealer (Best One of Monroe, IN) actually includes all of the Honda parts/fluids with their services on Honda vehicles per request... they just order cases by the truck.

Location in your profile would help. There is a Monroe outside Charlotte too. Not sure which Monroe you're talking about though. :)

It is always good to cross shop.

if I need something quickly, I look it up on an online dealer and print out the price. The local in-person parts guys don't usually meet the prices, but they WILL give you 15% - 20% off (same as they do for other shops).

Willie G, The amount required to fill a new CVT with AWD is almost exactly 9 quarts. The amount you drain and replace is almost exactly 4.5 quarts. So one drain and fill replaces almost exactly 1/2 of the old fluid with new. Much of the fluid that stays in is inside the torque converter. So if you drive it after one change to mix the new with the old, and then change it again you are still left with 1/4 of the old fluid. Drive it some to mix it again after the second drain and fill, and then drain and fill it again, and you are left with about 12.5 % old fluid. Which means you end up with about 87.5 % new fluid which is pretty good. Also with 3 drains and fill you have removed most of any fine particles, which can cause problems with the hydraulics of the CVT. If the hydraulics have problems the whole CVT will fail. This is not just with Honda CVTs, but just about any CVT or automatic is doomed to fail if the hydraulics do not function properly.

Hondapartsdeals.com is also a pretty good source.

In addition to item prices, a lot depends on availability of what you need since, as others have mentioned, shipping can become a significant part of the all-in cost.

Used most of them. Your savings may be eaten up by shipping charges. Some carriers charge extra for fluids. Calculate your total all in carefully. I've found in most cases the difference in all in price is not that much different at my local Honda dealer.

I have used Bernardi consistently for 4 different Hondas over more than 15 years. But I also always check others like Majestic Honda and College Hills Honda and others to compare prices and shipping cost. They each also sometimes have sales/specials on certain things so it's good to check. The parts folks at Bernardi have always been helpful/responsive by email when I needed help choosing the correct part. They also were willing to refund some shipping cost one time when I ordered a catback exhaust system for an Odyssey that got damaged in shipping. Also for parts I usually get a part number from a parts diagram from Bernardi and search Amazon Prime for it. Sometimes I find a good price and get 2 day shipping from Prime.

A bit off topic, but since a lot of the discussion is about doing CVT fluid D&R's I was wondering if the newer CR-Vs with CVTs have magnetic drain plugs installed at the factory?
