I have a 2006 cr-v se that I am trying to install a back-up camera on. I need to tap into the reverse light positive wire to activate the camera. What is the correct wire color to tap into. Thank you for your help.

If your 2006 SE is like my 2005 EX, the reverse wire is green/black. It is on the under dash relay box, the first wire in connector P. Not too hard to get too if you remove some of the loom tape. I used a blue Posi-Tap to connect the reverse wire to my replacement HU, an Alpine iLX-107. The camera I added is also an Alpine, a HCE-C1100.
Where did you mount the camera? I installed mine on the outer edge of the plastic bracket above the license plate running the cable though the same hole as the plate light.
I did some testing and found the spare tire showed up when I mounted the camera in the middle above the license plate, so I moved it outward. I think a bit of the tire showing would have been okay though. Either way, there is quite a bit of offset for the image. The radio allowed me to move the guide lines over.
colo_artist. Thank you for the much needed info. It was helpful. I mounted the camera under the rear bumper facia. Will have to post pics when I finish the project.
