I just bought this 2007 Crv a few weeks ago and i’ve been doing all city driving but getting horrible mileage over 20l/100km no matter how light footed I drive. every time I accelerate the instantaneous fuel gauge at the top jumps right up to 20l/100km no matter how lightly I accelerate. So the stop and go traffic really has an affect on it. The other main thing is when I let it idle for even 2 minutes that average fuel gauge starts climbing like crazy it just doesn’t make sense to me.
The spark plugs and air filter are all good
Another thing I should note is that there is a stored code P0420 which I guess means the cat isn’t functioning properly. could this be what’s causing it?
