2007 - Rear Seat and/or rear seat cover removal and/or rear seat bottom cover removal

My daughter dropped an airpod inside the rear seat by the buckle on the passenger rear side. I'm confident it is there, because we have flipped the seat forward and it was not below the seat. And, she can ping her airpod and we can hear it somewhere inside the seat.

We removed the 4 bolts that attach the seat, but we are unable to lift the seat out, per the video that I found on youtube.

My questions are:
  • Any ideas/tricks on how to remove the rear seat once the bolts are removed? Does it need to be in a certain position? I've pulled the nylon strap when trying to remove it.
  • If I get it removed, can I remove the seat cover (leather). Maybe I can get it from the top.
  • If I get it removed, can I remove the plastic tray below it. Maybe I can get it from the bottom.
Thanks for any help.

Regards,

Stephen

My fault. I neglected ensure that the seat was the way forward when I tried flip it forward to lift it off. I had to re-attach the front bolts to move the seat back and flip it.

The good news is that I was able to pull the bottom tray off without removing the seat. Sure enough, the airpod was in there. Oh well, lessons learned.

Welcome to the forum! You have just entered the Murphy's Law dimension, which is governed by this law: Anything that can go wrong will, in the worst possible place, at the worst possible time. It's one of the unwritten, but universally accepted, laws of physics. Good luck. Glad to see you recovered nicely. That one goes in the win column!

Still, IMO, earbuds should have wires on them, for just this reason.
