The cr-v has about 200k miles on it. The passenger side headlight keeps burning out. It was replaced by an auto shop about a month ago and it is already out again. In addition, a tail light has also burned out and along with the license plate light. I imagine it is some sort of electrical problem, I'm just wondering where I should look first. I don't think this is a battery issue as the battery is almost brand new, we replaced it this past fall along with the starter.

Headlight bulbs can fail for a variety of reasons: skin oil as a result of handling, loose sockets, bad grounds or loose battery terminals causing 'spikes'.

The bulbs sold as brighter replacements also fail quickly. Look for Osram replacement bulbs, they have a 'good reputation'.

If an inspection of the above doesn't find issues, you MIGHT have a battery with a loose plate inside, causing voltage spikes.

Yea but 1 month? I don't think it's the bulbs. Be sure the wiring/connects are all happy and the bulb receptacles are clean. Maybe check/clean grounds.I've never heard of that volt spike condition, but Carbuff2 knows these cars well, I'm still learning (slowly, car never breaks).

If whoever changed the bulb did it bare-handed, then it could fail that quickly. I prefer to use gloves - cotton or nitrile, when changing bulbs. The natural skin oil in fingers will cause the bulbs to fail quickly, if not almost immediately.
