Hi everyone,

This problem is somewhat similar to the post “crv 2020 awd jerks from drive to reverse”

I will attempt to Comment my video with the “Hm?” noise.

It happens from
Park to R
And, WHILE moving:
2nd to 3rd
Maybe 1st to 2nd.. but not while stationary.

Started happening a year ago on its own and has stayed about the same.

Trans? If so, fluid level is normal.

“Hm!”

Pretty confident I’m looking at a pricey transmission servicing.
Appreciate your insight!

Best,
Kerrigan

How many miles on it? What kind of recent and former work has been done to it? When was the last transmission fluid change done and what fluid was used.
The fluid is checked with the engine off and you have 90 seconds to check it after its been run and up to normal operating temperature.
What RPM range is the engine idling at? By jerk do you mean a slip and jump into gear or?

Hello!
126.
Most significant change is simply a serpentine belt and water pump replacement. About a month later in January ‘22 the oil was changed (of course, since then too). I think it’s unrelated, but a couple months later in Spring ‘22 the noise started.

Idles 1100 in Park and 900 in D.

If you take a gander at that video I linked, it’s a “hmph” sound and you sure can feel it. It doesn’t slip.

Trans fluid I’ve no idea, but certainly not the Honda one, I had it changed at a Jiffy Lube ; one in TX and one in CO. After it’s changed, the noise seems improved but partly Placebo I’m sure, and it eventually picks up again.

I suppose it’s a jump into gear, yeah. I wanna say you can almost feel the engine block lurching a bit if you really take a second to feel it when shifting in 2nd or 3rd.

Best,
Kerrigan

That is about right it takes awhile but sooner or later using non Honda transfluid will cause problems. Just listen to Professor John Kelly at Weber collage on you tube about transmission fliud marketing lies.
Automatic transmission fluid is an integral part of transmission engineering, and one size will not fit all transmissions.
