I'm trying to figure out how the keyless system works on my 2011 CRV. My range has been pretty weak and also inconsistent. Sometimes it will work from a distance, sometimes I have to get almost next to the car. I'm thinking this may be an issue with the antenna. I'm having a hard time finding information about this system. Is the antenna in the master window switch or in the module behind the glove box?

I have two OEM key fobs with brand new batteries.

On my 2007 CRV LX AWD, The remote keyless entry receiver is part of the immobilizer control unit which sits inside the steering column. The unit is powered by the car battery. If the battery is weak then this might affect reception. If there are magnetic fields in the area, microwaves operating, power lines, temperature differences between you and your vehicle, almost anything can attenuate the signal from the key fob. Position of antenna, anything with sympathetic electro-magnetic resonance etc.
