Hello. I have a 2013 Honda CRV I change the transmission fluid yesterday do not even think to check how much wood was in it because I never had this problem with my prior C RVs from the factory and everywhere that I read it says 2.7 quarts I put that in it and drove the car for 15 to 20 minutes came back shut it off on level ground and check the fluid level nothing shows up on the dipstick I've done it five or six times like this so I put the rest of the third Court in there so total of 3 quarts now and still no reading on the dipstick this morning I came out and it was cold not started pulled the dipstick out and it showed right at the bottom mark I know that's not an accurate reading but I don't want to keep on feeling it until it's level and it be too much as anybody else had this problem. Thanks for the help

You are checking it pretty much correctly when you change the fluid. With the transmission warm step thru all the gears for approx 5 sec. to circulate the fluid then check the level within three min. I too have to add a full three quarts to get the level correct. If you have to add a little more that ok, trust the dipstick. Also I haven't seen a large difference between hot and cold. So I'm comfortable doing a level check every few months when it's cold.

Just make sure the dip stick is full inserted and you have the notch on the rubber stopper aligned with the tab on the fill tube

Be certain that the tranny dipstick is well seated. I find it troublesome on my '13, with its large rubber tapered seal on the bottom where it sits on the top of the dipstick tube. I 100% agree with previous post by Traylaw. That is enough to make it look like you are a quart low. I find a flashlight is a must for putting the dipstick back in. Heck, it's dark down there!

Let me just give you some advice: If runni9ng the car, and pressing too hard on the trans dipstick can get caught to the gear, ask me, my 2nd gen did exactly that so be carful when applying the stick back in

Since you are already seeing the fluid on the bottom of the dipstick it's not far from being full. Go a little at a time.. Just for reference the distance from the "bottom" of the rubber plug to the high mark hole on my dipstick is 12 9/16 inches. You might want to check yours to make sure it's about the same.
