I had my CVT fluid flushed today and on the drive back from dealer i also smelled gas. Opened the windows to air it out and it was fine after.
Hello again Me,
Just started car to move it closer and more gas smell. Lasted quite a while , even after car was turned off. It is hot here in Vegas but now, only 88. Called 2 other private shops who work on Hondas but no calls returned. The other Honda dealer said they could see the history of what was examined, smoke test and everything looked fine. They want the car for as much as 2 days. This is very abnormal for the 6 years I've had this car. I think it's running too rich but I'm certainly not an expert.
Any suggestions from you mechanic experts out there? I am constantly impressed with your knowledge.

I think you should get someone else to smell if it is gas . A neighbor, a family member etc.. just ask them if they smell anything in the car. Dont mention gas . Maybe your smelling something, but it's not gas.
I could do that. No family around but maybe a neighbor can help.
What else could it be? The other day, it smelled like bad exhaust leaving the dealer.
Thank you...

One more thing, I have a good sniffer!
The smell is not oil, not hot or burning smell, just bad, like it shouldn't be there.
Wondering if I should take it back to the same dealer or another. Would it be silly to take it to an auto shop for a simple diagnosis just to look or is that too risky?
Thank you again.

Yep, will do, thank you.
Update in gas/exhaust smell after start.

A few days ago the 2 year old battery was dead. Tow jumped it and same dealer replaced it. Wonder if that smell could have been a sign the battery was failing. Dealer said routine battery level check is rarely accurate which I had done with all the maintenance. This is my 4th battery here in Vegas. Thank heaven the warranty is a good one! What a weird car...

True, can't tell you how much time I've wasted there.
