2020 CRV check engine light- Emissions System Problem

Greetings,
Just got back from grocery shopping. On the way to the store I got a check engine light pop up that says "Emissions System Problem". My car only has 20,271 miles and I've brought it in for all of the schedule maintenance checkups at the dealership where I bought it. I don't think any dealership service departments are open today since it's Sunday. If I took it to AutoZone, would they be able to plug in the analyzer and tell me the specific issue?

I would think they could pull codes for you that might narrow it down a bit? Did you get gas recently? A loose gas cap could be the issue.
Thank you for the reply. I got gas a couple days ago but it doesn't have a gas cap, their is a cover thing inside the gas door that seals the hole. I'll run outside and look at it right now.

More than likely, yes.

1st, have them load test battery, then move forward.

Okay, just got back from AutoZone. The printout reads: Power Train System code P24C0 - Canister Change Over Valve Close Malfunction.

I don't know what any of that means.

Battery test good?
I asked him to do that first but he said he would run the diagnostic first. I didn't really press him to do the battery first and it's not my personality type to argue with people like that. Once we got the code I forgot about following up with the battery thing. Crap, I hope this doesn't end up biting me in the rear :cautious:

Do you think I should go back and insist on the battery test? I'm trying to not drive it much.

Also, if you fill with gas, stop at the 1st click it shuts off.

Sorry, I've never heard the term "rounding up" in this context. What does that mean?

Typical Auto parts employees. It should be done, but can be tested other places. Battery is always 1st, then proceed.

No disrespect, and you may never have a problem, but...
Fuel pump clicks off when full, some will sit there and keep clicking it, happens all the time.

See post 17 with side note.

When you start doing this, the evap system starts filling and that is bad. It will possibly set codes, like you have, if done enough.
Aha! That's it. I do round up. Is the problem it causes difficult to fix? Or did I totally mess up my car?

Update: So my car spent a couple of days at the dealership last week and they told me it was some sort of evaporator part that had to be ordered to arrive in two more weeks. However, the service guy said my car is still driveable since the only thing happening is that it is polluting the atmosphere.

All this is covered under warranty. Speaking of which, my main gripe is that the Honda Care warranty only reimburses the cost of a rental at $35 per day (6 days max). I'm sure that $35 per day price hasn't changed in years but you know what has changed? The price of rent cars and everything else. I think Honda Care needs to bump that up $10 or $15 so we can afford the extra daily charge for insuring the rental.

No problem! I get that the "vapor" part might not be a pollutant itself but it is part of the emissions system so maybe the vapor affects something else down the line. No sure but you're right, that does seem a bit odd.
