2025 CRV EXL noise when releasing brake

Just took delivery on new crv exL ...am noticing this: I stop at a stop sign and then release the brake and there is a low-grade noise like something is disengaging. This is not a hybrid, totally gasoline...a small jerk..not always but 80% of the time. What is causing that?

By default the engine shuts off when the vehicle stops then the engine turns on when the vehicle starts moving again ("stop/start technology" to save a minuscule amount of fuel). To disable stop/start you have to press the button each time you start the car (the government mandates that the start/stop button cannot permanently disable the start/stop feature). You're turning off start/stop to determine if your issue (low grade noise, something disengaging, little jerk when you release the brake) is related to this system.

Wow! That's got to be it....and the little OFF button with a circular arrow turns off that shut down crap at a stop sign. And there's no way to permanently disable it. Gov't mandate? This is enough to make a center-left liberal a right wing conservative! And the dealership never explained that to me. The "assistant service manager" didn't know what I was talking about when I asked about that sort of "releasing" noise when I let go of the brake during a longer stop sign stop. Thanks for your enlightenment on this...I'm wondering if turning off "Economy" drive mode would get rid of that function or must I hit the off button every time I get in the car...I'm afraid you'll tell me its the latter. Appreciate the help...Larry

Everyone has a routine when getting in and starting their car.....start the engine, put on seatbelt, turn on AC or heat, etc etc. I just added one more thing to my routine, hit the OFF button. On the rare occasion I forget, I'm reminded at the next stop sign or light.
IMO, the ammount of fuel saved by the average driver using stop-start would barely fill an eye dropper. And yes, if you multiply that by 10 million cars, etc etc.
I still turn it off.

Larry, the stop/start button needs to be hit every time the car is started to disable the start/stop feature regardless of drive mode. The government mandated the automobile manufacturers from permanently disabling start/stop button however there are after market devices, some fairly straight forward to install, that do permanently turn off the start stop feature. Here is a thread to read through on stop/start eliminators that you might find helpful https://www.crvownersclub.com/threa....com/threads/gen-6-auto-stop-idle-disabler.244872/?post_id=1863317#post-1863317

I too was disappointed that Honda dropped the Homelink button as a standard feature in the gen 6. The only solutions are: 1. carry your remote for the garage door opener 2. ) install a homelink mirror. 3. subscription service, MyQ web app however I think there are some pre-requisites for MyQ like you have to have a MyQ compatible garage door opener.

i went with the homelink mirror - supposedly it was included in the "deal" with the local dealership on my 2025 CRV-EXL. 'Course a "honda deal" is an oxymoron. But they installed it and I programmed it and it works...so this saves me a subscription fee and my opener, although a Lift Master, is 25 years old. But the mirror button works. I am amazed. The complaint on the removal of the button goes on my Honda requested survey!
