We recently purchased a 2025 HR-V and got the gloss black rear emblems (dealer installed).
We were told the “Hybrid” rear badge was not available in gloss black.
We / I were unhappy with this and looked at DIY methods to accomplish the look that we wanted.
I finally decided to use the emblem for a 2025 Civic.
Some gentle heating and prying with a plastic squeegee got the bright emblem off. I cleaned the area with Griot's Garage Foaming Surface Prep, then dried with a microfiber cloth.
Installation of the new emblem was super easy and we feel that the “package” is now much better.
If you are interested, I will add the part number to the end of this post.
Unless you have a real phobia about working with trim parts, I'd highly suggest that you save the money that the dealer will charge you for labor and DIY the gloss black parts, if you want them that is!
