Nice review, but they said the thing that almost every technical reviewer says that makes me cringe.

Nope. Nope nope nope.


That is not the engine's primary role. It can send current to the battery, but that is a secondary role at best. I think they're trying to describe the system as completely serial, but it should be considered more of a T layout. The engine is the generator and sends power to the drive unit via the inverter/controller. The controller determines how much power is generated and where it goes. Some (or all depending on circumstances) can go to the battery, or it can come from the battery... but most of the time, most if not all of the power is going to move the vehicle via the traction motor.

Agreed. And it seems as though he said that as he was pulling away from the right turn in the video with his foot really into it and the engine screaming. Therefore, that was the ICE along with electrical motor(s) propelling the vehicle. No matter how you look at it, RPM's equal horsepower.
 
I just had this same problem with super loud audio "siri voice" from navigation as well in my 2024 CR-V Sport-L. There's a specific audio setting for 'Navigation' to lower this specific volume which I just did with success. I think it's in the Honda system settings for either audio or navigation. Hope that helps.
I could not find it on my EX. I just turned the volume down on the iPhone.
 
My solution to getting my car in and out of my garage. Because I have one eye, I have no depth perception. With help from another person I put my car in the exact spot that I wanted with room to walk by the front and room to walk by the rear. My solution once I had it in place, I first took a string and hung a tennis ball so that it just touches the windshield directly in front of me sitting in the driver position. Then measure the same distance from the side wall to the string and placed a vetical strip of blue masking tape on the front garage wall.

So now as I pull into the driveway I line up the tennis ball with the blue tape and pull straight in until I hit the ball. This puts the car in the exact same position every time. And no fear of hitting the mirrors.

Works for me.

Hi all, does anyone know where are the blind spot sensor location? A little old school, I got the blind spot sensor on my CRV hybrid, but I still like to attach those 2" blind spots round mirror to the side mirror because it easy for me to do parking. And hope it won't affect those sensor, thanks.
 
Just want to ask and get confirm, is it the blind spot sensor location is on the rear bumper and not at the side mirror right? any idea?

I bought these for mine. I mounted them on lower left (drivers side) and lower right (passenger side) where they do not cover the Blind Spot indicators on the mirror (USA car). Note: I turned them how they fit best on each mirror.

I agree. I had them adjusted to where it only showed the approaching car and not the side of my car but when my wife drove it she wanted the side of the car showing so I decided to put the small convex mirrors on it to see the cars better so the mirrors were not always being moved in and out depending on the driver in question.
 
I read an article from GearJunkie(Feb 13,2023), that stated: "Depending upon the trim package, it gets a revised navigation system that can factor in route details to optimize the drivetrain’s energy efficiency".

I'm interested in how this works as I've also read(somewhere), that the Nav system provides changes in elevation along a route, to the Hybrid system so that the Hybrid system can plan the battery/gas usage to be more fuel efficent.

I've asked Honda in a chat but there was no answer.

Is there a url link that I can review for any definitioin and/or quantitative data? If true, and results in fuel savings, one must wonder if Honda Nav is a better choice to use for trips.

This presumes that you are driving in a somewhat hilly area. I would also guess you could have NAV running in the background while you actually use Android auto / Apple Carplay.
 
Just my speculation, but this is probably more marketing than real fuel economy optimization, to sell more NAV system configurations. They don't actually offer any data on expected fuel economy optimization for this feature, right? That is a clear tell to me. :)

The same amount of energy is required on any given travel route, and the drive battery is very small, and battery drive is the only variable it can use for fuel economy optimization. So the vehicles ability to use data to predict say pre-loading the drive battery to max before going up a grade is pretty limited.

Since hybrids shine in city driving though, my guess is it uses data on intersections and current traffic flows to adjust how it applies the ICE power train in some manner to optimize fuel use a bit. Keywords: a bit.

Yeah, it may be marketing... but it's a lot of boogie to go through to implement if it doesn't really do anything.
The idea is that you could use more of the battery capacity going up a hill, and then have more of an "empty tank to fill" going down the hill - rather than resorting to engine braking or friction braking to moderate the speed on the down side because the battery is already full.
 
The feature is Predictive Eco Assist. It's only available with the Sport Touring trim.


I'd read somewhere that longer trips require navigating to waypoints. If you turn off the vehicle prior to arriving at a destination, it diminishes the the efficiency of the feature.
