Adding Gentex or other option for 2022 CRV EX

Hi. Does anyone know if it's possible to replace my existing mirror with a Gentex Series 8 for Auto-Dimming and Homelink? I've seen others do this on older CRV and even someone modifying the sunroof buttons to include the module for Homelink. This new CRV EX has the big shroud behind the mirror for what I assume is all the lane keeping features.

Thanks

I'd be looking here in the DIY/Mods area...or do a Google search. Or look on the Gentex site.

Its certainly possible!

Thanks. Have done all of those. Most useful stuff on google points to this forum. I did see another thread where someone used an older odyssey mirror but the link to the one they had purchased was dead. Gentex site didn't seem to have much or I'm just not finding it. Based on the DIY thread from awhile back, I am wondering if a newer Pilot or Odyssey mirror would still be work. That might be a better option than going with Gentex.

Just about anything is possible... so it really comes down to "degree of difficulty and grief factor". :) Actual detail information on existing wiring and how to tap into it will be the main challenge, followed by fastening/mounting setups in the stock production CRVs. Also, compatibility of sensors and other circuits in the smart mirror may be a challenge as well.

Thing is, where gen5 CRVs are concerned, they generally are less friendly to such after market modifications than earlier generation CRVs. A combination of no actual service manuals publicly available as well as very specific wiring and harness setups in production models makes it more and more challenging with each new generation.
