I have had my 2017 CRV for just under 6 months. For the first 3 months my phone worked consistently with the USB plug in and the Android Auto app to connect to the car. With no change in the phones function or damage to the connecting cord the Android Auto app would disconnect while in use. I was able to identify that the connection would drop if I was driving on a bumpy surface or going over a speed bump etc. After confirming that my phone was working properly, uninstalling and reinstalling Android Auto on my phone, checking its function in another vehicle, checking the cord to ensure it was not damaged I booked it in to the dealer. Their first response was that it was my phone. The technician worked on it for 3 hours and couldn't reproduce the problem. I asked to take the technician for a drive to show how I was able to connect and how the connection would drop. I was able to reproduce the problem first try. A new USB plug was ordered and installed a week later.
This appeared to solve the problem. Fast forward 4 weeks.....yesterday I went to use Android Auto in my vehicle and it will not load on the car. It opens on my phone. The cord being used and connected to the USB port provides a charge. Has anyone else had any issues of this nature? I know when I call the dealer tomorrow their first comment will be that my phone needs a factory reset.
