Hi folks.
I am new to the club, and looking for the latest info on whether it's possible to add a new head unit to a 2014 CRV (mine is the i-Dtec with the factory fitted sat nav/CD player and reverse camera) which has Apple Carplay & Android Auto.
Very keen to hear about any providers who have proved to be good, and the best head units out there that work well in the CRV.
I am keen to retain the camera and steering wheel controls, if possible.
Thanks.

I have fitted a joying 10.1 android unit in my 2018 EX, and it has wireless carplay & android auto out of the box. very straightforward install, and all the steering wheel controls still work as does the reverse camera. You lose a few of the iMID displays, only now shows the clock & trip computer, but I can't say I miss any, as the unit is so much better.

Thanks! So your unit did come with the proper wiring to connect to your rear camera and your reverse sensing wire still works without any modification? I'm about to order a unit from amazon, and the suppliers kind enough to address my inquiry regarding and adapter as long as I send a picture of my factory unit...I'm waiting on a reply but figured someone in the forum who's actually done the surgery would be the best endorsement.

I pulled the trigger and bought the newest unit...and there is a company that makes an adapter cable to run your backup camera from the wire harness from the upper dash unit (eBay like 10 bucks). I went ahead and remove that small panel from the center console and adapted it to run to usb-c ports and I relocated the 12 volt source to the center.
