Hey folks , thanks for taking a moment and helping me out. I will be changing my battery soon and I don't want the car's computer system to freakout, I've seen OBD style memory savers and ones for the cigarette lighter, can anyone explain the difference and recommend something....2019 CRV-LX 2.4L.....Thanks

Your owners manual (the complete, 600-page one) should tell you what, if anything, needs to be reset. (One-touch power windows?)

Just keep the battery cables disconnected a couple minutes to allow residual voltage to drain, and don't be alarmed at the dash icons that go on until the modules recalibrate. (Shouldn't take more than 10 minutes of driving)

Happily, generation 5 CRVs generally take a battery swap-out without incident, so I would not even bother with a memory saver. Sometimes there is a small glitch but removing the ground terminal for a few minutes and reconnecting clears any glitch. Note: most such glitches are due to not following Honda instructions exactly as described in the owners manual.

All the vehicle systems will go through a cold reboot, self-test, and cross-check once power is restored. Your owners manual will specify how to remove and replace the battery (follow the directions exactly to avoid glitching). Generally a short drive will clear all the alert lights on the instrument panel and you are all set.

And you don't need to scrounge around for a radio code either, because the head unit is programmed/paired to the vehicle, so the headunit will simply ask for a soft reboot (hold down the power button until it resets) to re-pair it with the vehicle.

As mentioned you don't need a battery memory saver. But if you do use one it will have to attach to the OBD2 port. The ones that plug into the "cigarette lighter" socket won't work because the socket is disconnected from the battery when the car is off.
Also as mentioned, when you do change the battery and start the car you will see a plethora of warnings....don't freak out, this is normal and the warnings will automatically clear themselves when you drive the car a short distance. It's just the systems needing to perform some tests/calibrations before going back online.
