Yes, this forum (like all forums) have contributors who are unable to offer helpful information, so instead they just provide opinions...

If you search YouTube you might find some helpful videos about vent removal, at least enough to give you some insight (keep searching)

Thanks for the link!

Geeezzzz.....Its beyond my comprehension why someone would write such a dick post, live in Montana and write a post which contributes NOTHING. I didn't ask if you liked the smell of them or if your wife was allergic to them
Don't worry about it. You'll notice the same primitive posters on here with their smart remarks and "know it all attitude". There are a few on this thread. It sucks that this happened to you, but luckily they are giving you enough money for the parts. Do the labor yourself and save the money.

I literally cannot stand the smell of all of these 'air fresheners' - they are, literally, poison.

Why anyone would install such a thing in a new vehicle is beyond comprehension.

There are businesses in my town I cannot even enter due to the horrid smells of said 'air fresheners.'

I really dislike the odor (that's what it is, an odor) of these devices, my wife on the other hand is allergic to them and the begins to have problems breathing.

I highly doubt that the majority of you will understand my post though I truly believe one or more will read and understand it.

These 'air fresheners' are the airborne equivalent of aspartame...BAD for you.

While I think your post is a bit strong, I believe that it is everyone's right to use or not use a product as they see fit. With that said, I don't like the smell of air fresheners either. It could be that some users of the air fresheners are smokers and have passengers that don't like the smoke smell in the car.

Thanks for the part info. All I need to do is figure out how to remove the old one and install the new one. I was taking a look at it and it really looks like its installed from the back. Not sure how that is going to work Lol
Looks to me like it pops out. Try prying the bottom first. It's already ruined so... Given there are vents and the hazard button, I don't know how you'd install it from the back.

I also do not like the smell but everyone is different. The one thing I would suggest is looking very carefully at what chemicals are being used to create the aroma! Long term exposure to some of these chemicals is not exactly healthy.

Frabreeze Oder spray, will Kill the cluster plastic. damaged the hell outif it, that I was able to cealn up, rather wasting the time, I simply replaced it. was a simple pull. and push ... so like I said at the start.

grab it and do not force it if is your center dash trim vent like i posted. maybe I'll go in there and demonstrate for $$$$$

Update: Looked at he actual center dash and it's going to be some fun pulling hte whole trim out not just the vents...

Too hot to touch at my end. I looked and see if I can figure it out, I will say check out the Illumination install kit, or fog lite install kit instructions. If i have to start taking apart the radio to get to this good luck, I think that since I can lift the top cover up. I do not promise it will come off or pop back to get to the vent but that be my start. then trying to tear into something that is a minutes worth if a life time punishment of some smelling air freshner mistake...

Just FYI. It’s not just the febreeze air fresheners that will do this. I had another style like Refresh (don’t remember the brand but it was like a little glass bottle the clips to the vent). It leaked and ate up the dash of my previous car. That’s the last time I ever bought the liquid type. But if you read any oth the others, the package will say not to have contact with plastics or the like.

funny the other day Isaw some one next to me I was going to grab the smartphone and snap a photo two TWO frabreezes one was not good enough
