Well Christmas came early today for me. I needed to stop at the dealer to ask the sales manager something and there sat my dream rig. 2023 Ridgeline RTL-E “Elite”. And lower payments surprisingly and a nicer ride. And I really wanted one when I got the CRV so after some paperwork I now drive a Ridgeline. They gave me too much in trade and dropped the Ridgeline down over $10k due to being a 23.
I’ll get some pics up tomorrow for now a hello goodbye pic.

First night oddities and nice things
No Auto Wipers. (Wont miss them)
LED Projectors are okay but the Touring LED definitely is a bit better.
The 550w sound system is crazy good
The in Bed sound system is sure to make a lot of people laugh and it’s loud.
The Trunk has a drain plug so you can fill it with ice and hide the beer.
back seats fold up leaving a flat floor
Rear climate control
The push button transmission will take some adjustment
Paddle Shifters with a 9 speed transmission
Still oddly no song info streaming from YT music.
its far far far far far far quieter in the cabin on the freeway (did I use enough fars? Far far far far far. There)
Gonna need side steps.

Never did I dream I’d own one. Always was a drool on it at the dealer. Stars aligned today I guess.
Been 28 years since I had a White Vehicle. But this is Alpine White Pearl it really pops.

Towing capacity and the bed to actually haul stuff. Plus better accomodations for mounting antenna for my mobile ham radio. Lots of.small.reasons but overall it's been 15 years since I had a truck and the Ridgeline just checked all the boxes.

Mainly it was getting old tossing blankets down on the Upholstery when I have to haul car parts or pick something up for the shop etc. It's gonna get used as a truck. Now i can also use the shops 8x12 cargo trailer as well not having to borrow the shop 8.1L beast truck.

Close to $10k in discounts helped a ton. (Happy Honda days, Customer Loyalty, Costco, Veteran, and a couple more. And the crazy trade in. They have been after my Touring more than a few times as the 6G Touring is a Hybrid. The ICE model no longer has a touring trim.

A few things I already miss but all the new buttons really help. And it's so much more comfortable for my bad back.

First towing test later this week. Need to haul a cargo trailer for a friend to his dad's for the winter.

Another thing, first night drive. more ambient lighting! and you can actually see the footwells, without modifying them. But the blue will be interesting. The Black Edition gets red and so much easier on the eys.

Still going to add some more, rear footwells, and grab handles and see if I can light up the rear cup holders. They are kinda odd a large cup holder and a rectangle. Over on the RLoG, it was designed to hold a large soda and fries from McDonalds. No fooling!

Other than today I find not only like the CRV the US RL does not get heated rear seats or rear hvac controls but we don't get cooled front seats! But hey at least we get actual TMPS with dash display and 5hr Canadians just get the passive system. And you don't need a gauge to fill a tire. Just start filling a tire and the dash beeps till it goes solid tone to let you know it's filled properly. A two tone sound means it's over full.

Now to build aa headache rack and get my amateur radio gear installed.

I have an RTL-E in a 2019 version of the RL. Absolutely love it and all of the features you’ve found so far-I have just over 100k miles on it now and they’ve been absolutely trouble free.

Question though, never seen an “Elite” version, granted I’m not shopping the dealers for a newer truck as this one is well paid for!

What does the “Elite” get you over the standard RTL-E which is already pretty feature rich? Is is a dealer appearance package or similar?

thanks

Very nice! Congratulations. I like the things you listed but do not understand putting speakers in the bed.
they’re not speakers in the traditional sense. There is nothing in the bed exposed that can be damaged or get wet etc. they made the bed from a fiberglass composite, behind it in strategic places they put magnetic exciters, these act on the bed to make it act like the surface of a traditional speaker vibrating and producing the intended sound. It’s actually very well executed and completely hidden and protected.

Bed exciters

Congratulations! We live on the west side of the Cascades too. We traded in our 2018 RTLE last June on a 2023 RTLE. Loved the '18 so much I decided to get the '23. The only thing I didn't like about the 2018 was the aluminum hood, which the '23 is now steel and also the 6 speed transmission. You will find the 9 speed is much better for towing. Having towed with both the 6 speed and the 9 speed, being able to select gears is essential for ascending and descending mountain passes. The 9 speed essentially makes if a much better tow vehicle.

We also have a 2020 CRV Touring.

Platnium White Pearl. What little sun we had the day I got it it really pops. I am getting the accessory chrome trim for the side that was on the T(ouring) model before the E(lite) came out with the facelift. Just needs a touch of chrome to break up the side a bit and it looks good.

More I play with it the happier I am with making the jump. I'm not a huge guy 6' 200 pounds but it fits me so much better.

Pulling a 4500 pound trailer tomorrow with it. :D
