Disable the key-fob window roll down feature

I see where a new feature in 2022 is the ability to disable the, IMHO, most stupid brain-dead feature I've seen in quite a while; the key fob auto-open windows feature. If I want to roll down the windows to prevent heat, I'll do it. I dont need a stupid automatic way that so far has rolled down about 9 times when we had no clue. I see in 2022 the new models can disable this "feature". Is there a software upgrade for the older models? I currently have a 2014 Odyssey and a 2020 CR-V that both need this disabled.

as all gets a questionaire, offer our feedback, and that is what is called listening to the Customer, those who complained, and now the ones who own the 5th gen before 2022 only, miss out, on it. the work around is aftermarket, and program what you want.

nothing new in technolgy

I have a 2018 CRV.
I used to experience the same issue.
I carry my FOB in my pocket with keys, change and other things and I suppose all that "togetherness" ends with buttons being pressed.

Anyway, I visited Amazon and bought a pair of thoes Silicone Keyless Remote Key Fob Cases. (They are available other places on the net as well.)

Hasen't occured since. (Been 2 years)

They aren't very expensive and since there dosen't seem to be any techinal fixes for this issue, I wonder if this might be something for you to consider.

Good luck to you.

It's not really an automatic feature. You have to deliberately hold down a specific key set for multiple seconds before this feature activates. It's just that the way some folks carry Fobs, those keys and duration can get activated under some conditions. generation 5 CRVs have no option to turn that feature off, so you are going to have to adapt and overcome here.

Generally, it is your Fob keys getting pinched active while in your pocket or purse that is the most common unintended cause. When you carry a Fob with a bunch of keys and then jam them in a pocket, this is what can happen.

The best practice here is not to have the feature disabled, but rather to find the root cause of why your Fob buttons are getting depressed for multiple seconds and correct the cause. If you do not, and if you could turn the feature off, those buttons will still get depressed when not intended, with the consequence of early depletion of the Fob battery for reasons you will have a hard time figuring out.

From the manual:
"To open: Press the unlock button, and then
within 10 seconds, press it again and keep it
pressed. If the windows and moonroof* or
panoramic roof*1 stop midway, repeat the
procedure."

I still have trouble wrapping my head around how people can frequently do this by accident.
Tight pants.

I also find it rather stupid that people dont do a forum search either to see that topics like this have been discussed more times than I've had hot dinners 🤷‍♂️
