Driver Door Power Unlock Issue

Hey, y'all!

I'm having an issue with my drivers side door power unlocking. I just replaced my lock actuator, which ended up not being the issue, so that is ruled out. When pressing the key fob, I can hear a click of some sort happening in the keyless entry module (I believe) so I know it's getting the signal. When pressing the unlock button on my key fob after the driver door is unlocked, all other locks unlock, but that is only after manually unlocking the drivers side door.

Would anybody happen to know the wire color, or possibly have a wire harness diagram for the harness that plugs into the actuator? Wanting to test this with a multimeter, as I believe it's my issue. All other help is highly encouraged!

Thanks for reading my first post on here. I'm in the process of "bulletproofing" my '98 RD1 with 182k on the clock, so it can run another 182,000! These first gens are incredible. Have a nice day.(y)

At the top of the Gen 1 forum, there is a stickie thread which has the link for the service manual. You will have to find the schematic for your power door lock. First, not all new parts mean good parts. I have gotten bad door lock actuators. Second, have you checked all the fuses. I do not know if there are individual fuses for each door or whatever. Third, sometimes the wiring near the door hinge breaks. Only mention this as a possibility. Good luck

Thanks for the info, Avisitor! I'll take all of this info into consideration. Already downloaded a copy of the service manual and sadly couldn't find a door harness diagram, but i'll keep on digging. You wouldn't happen to know if there's an unlock specific wire in the harness, would you? I haven't worked on many electrical door issues, and am kind of going blind at all of this hahaha

Schematic of keyless entry system is on page 23-124. Apparently there is a keyless door lock control unit. It is feed by the battery and thru the ignition switch. It controls all the door lock actuators. The driver's door lock being special. There is no diagram for the electrical part of the door lock actuator. This makes troubleshooting a little harder. Guessing the door panel must be taken off. The connector may be accessible even with door closed? Using a voltmeter, back probe the pins with respect to ground and see if there are any pulses when door is activated by key fob, door lock switch, key in lock cylinder.

Note: I understand not knowing what is going on with the door lock. But, with a little logic and persistence, you should be able to figure this out. Good Luck.
