Take a look at what Edmunds is posting. They suggest you pay in excess of MSRP due to low supply. Interesting, but not unexpected.

I agree, except it's not always easy. There are precisely three Honda dealers in my entire (large) state, with hundreds of miles between them.
Forget about Acura. :-(
Fortunately my local one is excellent.
The nearest out-of-state dealer is over 50 miles, and extra paperwork, away.
Congrats on a great deal.

I was surprised too. Rav 4 comes in at 8th spot.
Of all the research I did online. Most reviews came to the conclusion of the the CRV being pitted against the Rav4.
The Wrangler came in above the Rav 4 in 7th. WTH..? 🤣

Just remember Edmunds is in the business of selling used cars, and anything they say is for the purpose of doing that.
In fact, they are owned by CarMax.
Personally I prefer to get my information from someone other than the outfit trying to sell me a car. :)

I didn't know about the ownership part.
Most of these reviews are sponsored, but cant deny the part that they play big role in peoples purchase decisions.

The current gen RAV4s have a lot of "rough edges" and bad compromises in the design and styling, that is off-putting even to some die-hard Toyota customers.
The sales numbers tell a different story, compared to the ranking in their list.
I like the RAV4 styling and was sad that it also lost the tailgate mounted spare in the current generation. Sad that the CRV also lost it.

When I was shopping around, CRV and RAV4 were the top competitors from the segment.
Finally CRV won for many reasons, but the biggest factor was $.
Toyota dealer was expecting me to pay 5k over already pricier XSE hybrid.
Honda on the other hand agreed to the true car pricing, below MSRP and gave financing at 0.9 APR.

This was the most funny part to me as well.
I didn't know Wrangler even came under the same category.
But I need to admit that it was also in my initial shortlist.
