Hi I recently faces an Egr fault code P049B . When resetted code and flushed Egr and ran for 90miles again it was blinking on dashboard as EML, Took to hondaservice , they tested Egr connecting parts , egr itself for actuator test , rest DTC and checked code not came back , so if it came need to change oil +filter with force regen , when driving back to home dpf forced regeneration with ! Came , I called mobile service for force regen due to no service slot available .

They tried to do force regen , it's not happen . So he asked to do dpf cleaning , I done and took to motor way , when regen temp reaches it throws dpf regen warning and followed by egr valve code.Already confirmed with service centre it's not due to egr valve . So it's due to sensor or oil ?

I driven 5kplus oil change interval in last four months mostly motorway and few weeks back oil maintenance B service maintenance reminder reflected ,but it's less than 5k miles so resetted it in maintenance info .. do you have any idea ? It's oil , sensor or dpf or egr ?

When dpf sensor connected ,It's not allowing to do regeneration, disconnecting dpf sensor allowing for forced regeneration

1.so if it came need to change oil +filter with force regen , when driving back to home dpf forced regeneration with ! Came, I called mobile service for force regen due to no service slot available.
When i Checked with Honda they tested and mentioned , EGR valve is working Fine and EGR components are clear , I f again EML triggers with same code you need to force regenerate DPF and Oil+Filter change need to be done .

2.when driving back to home Dpf forced regeneration with ! Came, I called mobile service for force regen due to no service slot available
When I am driving back from service center ,Now DPF force regeneration warning came i browsed in online Its
P24A4, I tried to call honda service as its friday they all busy no slots available until next 22 Nov , So i called near by Carbon busters(Mobile mechanic) to check . They arrive and checked Its confirmed same P24A4 PM Accumulation Quantity Excess Blocked DPF Cleaning. So e tried to Do force regeneration using DTC . It was not allowing
3.They tried to do force regen, it's not happen . So he asked to do dpf cleaning,
So the Carbon busters mentioned it s may be due to blocked DPF its not allowing to regenerate, He adviced to carryout DPF Flush , so I agreed and they carried out DPF cleaning , later to check he took me in Moto way how regeneration works auto matically , when we driving DPF regeneration temperature reaches it trigged first DPF regeneration code and followed by EGR .
He mentioned Regeneration was not happening it results in Same EGR fault code.
4.When dpf sensor connected, It’s not allowing to do regeneration, disconnecting dpf sensor allowing for forced regeneration
When reach back home in Limp Mode , he tried to regenerate with DTC its not happening , now he removed the Hot Hose pipe from DPF sensor and tried to regenerate , Now DPF regeneration was successful and codes are clear , But I am still afraid if I ride again when temperature reaches for regeneration either of two codes avail in dashboard . Current status no EML or warning dash board , I want to ensure what is the real problem .

when i Browsing this forum one video you referred is to change engine oil/oilFilter , so now i am in confusion , what is real problem , mobile mechanic says DPF may have gone wrong , or DPF sensor . My doubt is oil change as honda service mentioned / Video you shared .

1/ What is your mileage. -68900Miles

2/ Have you owned the CRV from new.- No one previous owner (June 2023 Bought from owner who owned 7 yrs)

3/ What is the DPF total PM value.- Not aware

4/ Do you have any active error codes.-Currently No

Previously captured Codes are P049B, P24A4
Mobile DPF cleaner mentioned cheapest you can check is Changing Pressure Sensor , Now day by day cost i am spending goes high without knowing what is exact issue

@UK-rev, Sorry for late updates .I again Got EML this time code stays with P049B , which initially shown , went to showroom they changed oil+filter and send me back , again Got Same issue same code P049B . Still vehicle in Honda service from 02 -November 2023. Initially they said DPF is gone need to change, I agreed to do as mentioned.

I have third party warranty , but when Honda contacted third party to mention about issue and need to replace DPF they asked question if P049B is related to EGR why need to change DPF ?its not showing P24A4 code now , why always triggering P049B.

Honda stopped contacting me past 3 weeks , vehicle with them ,This week i got call from Honda service and mentioned DPF is not that much bad as expected , It need to be cleaned , If Its cleaned problem will be solved , we can do chemical dpf cleaning that is economical compared to Removing and cleaning that is the option mentioned .Third party warranty provided requested the DPF to courier as they do cleaning and return back to Honda service Centre .But Honda Guy mentioned Chemical cleaning is more economical cost around 110Pounds we can clean and give vehicle in 2 days .
But almost week gone , No call from them . My question is P049B is the code reflecting and its stops normal DPF regeneration , where Forced Regeneration is working on Honda service as they dis three times after changed oil .

what may be they issue why they not changing new DPF in this case or they Diagnosing in wrong part . Past 25 Days vehicle in Honda service Centre they contacted me only once for the update of chemical cleaning

Past Four Months I was Driving vehicle , weekly twice I will drive in motor way 75one way up and down 150Miles and Covered almost 6k In 4 months. So I hope I am not driving short distance for DPF blockage .

@Donbosco
Sorry for the late reply - Sounds to me like you are getting the run a round.

FYI >>> P049B = Exhaust Gas Recirculation B Flow Insufficient Detected – This means the ECU has detected a malfunction in the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system "B" flow for a particular step-down setting. The designation "B" refers to a certain position of the step-down EGR valve. Either an electrical problem or a mechanical problem may cause a code P049B to be stored.

I would guess that the complete system is blocked, but what do I know.
I bought vehicle last Thursday they mentioned they have removed and cleaned the dpf with solution, and fitted back .it regenerating at regular interval of time .
I took vehicle early Friday morning for office ride crossed 45 miles in motorway again EML come on stay . Returned back to honda service ,they checked same code (P049B).Dpf was fine and clean .they mentioning DPF is not an issue it's performing fine and next suggesting to remove turbo and check further . I left with them and return home
They call me back on evening and mentioned they have changed dpf pressure sensor and driven 50mins in motor way it's fine .they ask me to test .
Monday today I took for office ..one way 75miles reached no issue , while returning back happened after crossing 15-20miles .

When ever taking them ..they checking , resetting and telling working fine

Notes : Egr valve working fine , no clogs in Egr passage , dpf sensor changed .

So what is the current status of your CRV, is it running okay or do you still have problems?
Crv is running but I am getting intermittent time EML light with P049B code , they mentioning DPF working fine and regenerating, no problem you can drive after resetting etc.Its second time they do this procedure from last week . Today took vehicle to them . They mentioning currently they are blind what to do next ,so writing mail to honda tech centre for advanced technical team what need to do next .

To avoid getting that issue , I stopped driving now , just resetted it
