Flickering Amber Lights (car off)

2017 EX-L. My Wife went into the garage, and the amber light strip above the passenger headlight, and the one in the passenger mirror were flickering randomly. The car was off, and no one was in it. We cranked it up and it continued. Turned it off and it kept doing it. it did finally stop, but I’m not sure why.

Last week we had it in the dealer to have the headlight on that side replaced. We are taking it to the dealer in the morning, but wondering if anyone has seen this problem. I searched the forum, but could not find Anything similar.
thanks

Battery is probably 2 years old, but seems fine. It only did it for a few minutes, and has not done it since.
Dealer was baffled, and had no clue, and of course it wasn’t doing it at that time. However we did video it while it was doing it. Unfortunately I can’t seem to upload it.

Could be. Maybe a wiring harness somewhere that has an issue, or the system that controls the actual turn signal flaked out.

Then again, modern vehicles like CRVs are notorious for odd random one time glitchy behaviors that clear on a vehicle restart and never come back.

Did anyone ever figure out what was causing this

The front turn signal is wired together with the corresponding led on the mirror but the rear turn signal is wired separately. Which is why you see the front turn signal and mirron flickering together. Now for the bad news. The turn signals are wired directly to the Body Control Module (BCM). There are no relays, switches or any other electrical devices between the BCM and turn signal. Meaning the problem is with the BCM. Not a cheap repair and the dealers have been having problems getting their hands on one. They have been in short supply and you may have a wait period to get one.

I have the same problem. Honda ran a diagnostic ($175), found nothing and suggested a $790 repair “that might fix it”. They said it would have to be flashing when they tested it. That was 4 months ago. Still happening.

I have a flickering light on my back rear signal. I took mine to the dealer with videos my neighbours sent me. It’s lighting up their houses when it happens. Dealer was baffled, and also said they couldn’t diagnose the issue without it happening while there. They suggested I replace the rear light with an aftermarket part which would cost me almost $1k. They also said it may or may not fix the issue. So I wasn’t about to spend all this money when they couldn’t guarantee it would fix the issue. They did unplug the lights and plug it back in and it was fine for almost 3 months, but it stared back up again this week. UGH

Out of curiosity how far away is the key from where it’s parked? Friends 22 RDX was doing this. She hung her purse in their entry and the car was hardly 15 feet away. Any time it rained water rolling behind the handle like a trip to the car wash would unlock a door, then after a set time relock. Key now is I. One of those rfid baggies in her purse and it’s never flickered again.

Won't damage the vehicle, it does drain the battery and you may get a ticket for a malfunctioning turn signal because it may also be flickering while you drive. If the turn signal is flickering with the vehicle off than replacement of the BCM is needed, it's not a maybe fix it is the fix.

Yes, my 2017 honda crv does the same for almost 2 years. I bought to several honda dealers/service but they don't know. They feel remote starter but had it disconnected & still did it. I could pay over 1000 dollars to have checked but no promise that they find anything. If you find problem, please let me know.
