Fluid/plug change interval

Howdy,

My wife is looking at buying a 2019 CR-V and one of them is sitting just under 30K miles. I have a 2007 Ody, so I understand the Maintenance Minder concept and that scheduled maintenance is based on the MM, not miles, BUT I also know certain things tend to pop up right around certain mileage ranges.

I'm trying to make sure we either confirm certain things have already been done, or know when to expect them to be due.

The Owners.honda.com site has a "general countries" schedule based on time & miles and lists transmission fluid at 25K and spark plugs at 62.5K miles. EDIT: However, I can see in the 2019 manual a comment about changing trans fluid at 25K for mountainous areas, so I would expect a longer normal interval.

When (roughly) do transmission fluid and spark plugs come due? ~30K and ~100K?

Thanks, y'all!

Thank you. I was reading around 30K for trans but wanted to check. The carfax records show maintenance for the first few oil changes (probably free at the dealer) then nothing until it was up for sale again. That doesn't mean things weren't done, just that they weren't put into carfax.

Another thing to check if applicable, if your CRV is AWD, ideally the rear differential should have a change of the proper Honda Dual-Pump fluid.

If Honda said 25K interval, or you're saying 25K interval, and read from the Manual found online about Mountain roads, they recommend changing at a different schedule. Please do point out hte 25K where you read?

This is the full on-line manual http://techinfo.honda.com/rjanisis/pubs/OM/AH/ATLA1717OM/enu/ATLA1717OM.PDF

If I were to purchase I say hey change all the fluids get the car to spec, and you got a sale. On you. MM its time, mileage and some

@PhilF It would be 2WD, whether this one or another, but thanks for the AWD info.

@intruder1500 It's actually at a Ford dealer. 2019 Honda CR-V Touring San Antonio TX | Boerne New Braunfels Helotes Texas 7FARW1H98KE014705 $26K seems high for the miles. It was actually listed for less than that back in Oct. It's been on their lot almost 6 months.

@fishycomics I never found an official American Honda document that said change (whichever fluid) at XX,XXX miles, in America, under normal conditions. Everything says MM, which makes sense. Regarding the 25K for ATF, it was in the 2019 Owner's Manual (https://techinfo.honda.com/rjanisis/pubs/OM/AH/ATLA1919OM/enu/ATLA1919OM.PDF). I highlighted the part about mountains and towing. The 2017 manual has similar wording on pg 545.

What I DID find, however, was from Maintenance Minder | Maintenance Schedule | Honda Owners Site and it's called "Maintenance Schedule for Normal and Severe Conditions - General Countries." I attached it.

My wife is leaning EX-L or Touring, but really has her heart set on the Basque Red Pearl, so that limits the choices. Touring options don't really do much for either of us, so I've been nudging her toward an EX-L. It's interesting to see there are dealers out there still selling new 2019s.

We did our research on OdyClub before buying our first Ody, back in late 2002. I've also been reading up on CR-Vs on here and it's nice to have helpful online communities to share experiences and info to help each other.

No one will have a clear answer to what is right or wrong on the ATF fluid change. so as long as we feel 30K is about the time to go by.

You will be very pleased it an EX-L its a few things less then a Touring. paddle shifter, radio wiper etc to name a few let us all know in the end what you picked up newpreowned.
