Just been out tonight in New car and was a bit disappointed that there is no footwear lighting it's an EX model and according to brochure should be equipt with them.
Does anyone know if it is something you can turn on in settings?

I've never seen a setting for that, but ... just got a 2022 Touring and I swear mine doesn't have footwell lighting either although I thought it was standard. There are a couple of threads about this if you search; apparently even when it does exist it's very dim, but there's a hack for drilling out the diffuser lens that helps brighten it up.

And if it turns out you don't have the lighting after all, Honda does sell a kit for about $80-$90 to add it, or there are lots of third party kits to do the same.

Moved this to the UK section as US cars dont have same stuff we do. This is one such feature.

There IS footwell lighting in the 1.5T EX that I have. They werent very bright, so I took them out and drilled out the plastic covering in place which "dimmed" the light - now they are very visible. I suspect yours will be the same.

There is no setting for this to turn on or off. They illuminate whenever the door is open and go off when closed. :)

Is yours the UK model?

FWIW, there is an official Honda kit, 08E10-TLA-100, to add this feature. I don't know the Honda list price, but places like College Hills Honda or Bernardi Auto Parts sell it online for around $90. If I did it, I would do the installation myself, but I haven't decided whether it's worth the price and the trouble. Has anybody actually installed this?

The last two items from the owners manual are the ambient lighting LEDs.

My 2020 EX-L in US has it. Like everyone said, it's very dim and hard to notice unless it's very dark inside. Very difficult to click a picture and show.

I wonder about using "LED COB strip", like BigClive just has a video on. Search on ebay for something like "Flexible COB LED Strip Light DC 12V 24V FCOB"
About $5 for a 1 meter strip, you can cut in increments of 1.6" You still have to tap it into power. May be too bright, may need a resistor to dim it.

You'll have to cut and splice the factory wiring harness and you'll have to do a little sleuthing to figure out where to connect, but if you're OK with that then I think this plan is totally workable. This is where factory service data and wiring diagrams would be really handy...

If it were me I'd start by looking at the emergency flasher button. It lights up, so it must be connected to the interior illumination circuit. And it's just one button, so it can't have too many wires behind it. Shouldn't be too hard to figure out :)
