Gas Mileage (2025 hybrid)

I have the 2025 Sport Hybrid. I am finding the gas mileage is not great. The dealership says it is a common complaint and they have contacted Honda with no response. I do mostly city driving. I am curious is any one gets close to the 40 miles per gallon. I get 31 or 32 mpg, which the dealership indicated is typical for this generation CRV. My 2022 did much better.

Welcome to the club.......31/32 sounds very good for an ICE engine .....but maybe not for a Hybrid?
But you did say mostly city!

My 2015 (ICE engine) averaged ~28.4 mpg over 30 tankfuls. My lowest average for a tank full was 24.6mpg and my highest was 31.6 mpg. 10 of those tankfils - or 33% was over 30 mpg.
My drives were a mix-approximately 1/3 city, 1/3 country road, and 1/3 hiway.

My average with our 2024 Sport Touring with over 15,000 miles is 36.1 mpg. That would be combination interstate, and back roads here in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Now that cooler weather has hit, I can see the MPG dropping a little.

I'm in Ohio, I have hit as high as 44.5 mpg but normally average 42-43 calculated at fillup. Granted I drive like an old man (because I am) and the terrain is mostly flat, but you are experiencing pretty low mpg in my opinion.
Now with winter starting I'll ex[pect it to drop to 37-38 mpg. But it's never been worse than that. Your dealers explanation wouldn't satisfy me.

Go to Fuelly and compare your CR-V to others.
I have a 2020 CR-V Hybrid and have never got worse that 35.

My signature has a link to Fuelly

I have a 2024 Sport-L and a 2025 Touring, in Ohio. The first 5k or so miles feels like a break in. You won't get the greatest mileage. But after that in the summer you should see 40ish mpg city, 35 ish highway. in the winter, depending on your HVAC settings it will drop 15 - 20%.

In my '25 i actually got over 40 mpg on a trip to West Virginia, but i took it easy and kept the speed down below 65mph.

I have a 2024 STH and when it was new, same thing (not so great mileage) but after break in period, it improved and got the advertised fuel economy eventually. Just be patient with it, you’ll get there (next summer?)

Hi
We essentially have the same car you do. We have discovered that running the AC drops the mileage to around what you are getting. Is yours running in the background? This was our cross-country mileage with our AC running. Upon arriving home (and cooler weather) our mileage jumped to 36/37. We've never hit 40 but we both have heavy feet.
Our comments, and Merry Xmas (if appropriate)
