New owner with a 2005 -192,000 miles. USA model automatic. 2 wheel drive . Just purchased it Saturday, filled up the Gas tank and smelled gasoline , real bad. On it maiden voyage........ Pulled over to find a lot of raw gasoline on the tank sides, and the charcoal canisters. Like dripping !!!!!! Pulled the carpet to find the top of the gas tank access metal bracket, and it looks virgin that has never been touched by a screwdriver
Just wondering if this is a usual problem, or just something weird. But I already know dripping gasoline is weird to begin with....... Previous owner mentioned nothing about bad gas smell or dripping gasoline.
Body of vehicle underneath fair, not rusted through. Car resides in Cincinnati Ohio all it's life, and will remain so.
Any usual culprits- hints will be accepted. Thanks Joe
