Hey Peeps,

Past few days ive noticed when i start my Honda CR-V 2.2 cdti she puff's a little blue smoke for a second when cold.

Symptoms

Only on a cold start, it does not smoke on the over run or hard acceleration, idles smooth and drives fine load of power.

has not used any oil in 2,000 miles

Not sure if its using water yet as haven't had it that long.

One concern is im getting excessive blow by when "removing oil filler cap" when engine is ticking over.

She's a 2008 Crv 2.2 cdti with 142k on her

I'm thinking possible Head Gasket or Blocked intake,

The Rubber inlet pipe Airbox to turbo is also split.:)

any thoughts appreciated.

Afternoon peeps, turns out I actually put the wrong oil in her using a 5w30,
Checked the manual and it says 0w30,
The engine feels more lively now to,
I’d also spoken to a mechanic friend at my local garage showing him a recording of the smoke and he also said it sounded like valve seals,

since changing the oil the smoke has all but disappeared she’s not using any oil or water either so fingers crossed she’s ok I’ve done quiet a few hundred miles to and she’s runs great mpg anywhere between 40 and 60mpg using a brim to brim to calculate.

thanks for all the replies
