Oh, OK, I thought I needed a special pump! Honda dealer wants $300 to $500 to do that! I do appreciate your time in helping me. Merry Christmas. Oh, and by the way I really need some heat it’s -7° here!

As mentioned, the entire process takes 2 - 3 hours. Hopefully a shop wouldn't make you pay all that labor, since they could do other repairs while the cleanse is in process.

Most of that required time is, circulation of the fluid. If you rig up the proper equipment holders, you could drink a few Adult Beverages while you are waiting... :giggle:

Keep a positive attitude.

Just a thought, you don't mention if you checked to see if the lines on the firewall going to the heater core are both warm/hot. If they are, could be just the blend door stuck or failed motor.
Never had this problem, so trying to understand it
Was -20C here couple of nights ago, now -10C - shorts and t-shirt time!
Have a good Christmas.
Cheers! 🍻

If the engine was running a while, they could both be hot. Did you actually measure the temp remote , or just feel them? But if the heater core were clogged on the one side, you would still lose heat there.

I just went through this type of issue on a Toyota that had been run with a low coolant level a few times (radiator had been replaced twice in 12,000 miles). The heater core was clogged and it took a bit of cleansing to make it 'warm and happy' again.

I have had really good experience with my local dealer. When I called in they said yep we know what causes that and it will be this much. I use them for oil change and tire rotate, brake fluid flush and coolant flush. The cost for those services are $125 each which is not bad to me. I do my own trans and rear diff service. The charge $125 each for those also.
