I love almost everything about our 2024 Sport Touring CR-V, but the stock horn really is pathetic. I'd like to put in an upgrade (as lots of folks here have done successfully) like the one from College Hills Honda, but my wife is worried that it will cause some change in resistance or load or something. She doesn't want to risk jeopardizing the many microelectronic systems in the car. Yes, she's probably being overcautious, but in the name of domestic harmony, I can't go ahead with the upgrade until I get her OK.
She suggested I call the certified technicians from the dealership where we got it. I'm pretty sure there's no way they're going to take the time to approve an aftermarket part that they're neither selling nor installing. Instead, I tried submitting a question to College Hills. They replied very promptly:

That's totally reasonable, but doesn't help at all. Does anyone here have a suggestion about where to get an authoritative assurance that adding a second, aftermarket horn is safe to do?
