Same old same old Dave,
Like I said mate I would be guessing at the relay being the problem – The link I shared shows which one it is in the fuse box in the engine compartment – Pull it out check the PINs are okay, then get somebody to turn on your ignition (not start) while you feel and listen for the relay clicking >>> No noise or clicking change your relay.

BTW about time you brought yourself a scanner as alate Christmas present to yourself.
Hi Kev
I had a look at the fuse box in the engine bay today and unfortunately it does not look like the one in the link, mine looks like this (Attached)

Hiya Dave,

My bad sent you the link showing the 2.2 i-ctdi relay not the i-dtec location.

Been a while but I believe the fuel pump relay was moved by Honda into the cabin fuse box and I think the relay you need to check is at number two position.

Note Please check your owner’s manual to confirm what I have stated above…. Thanks.

The relay you are looking for is grey in colour and should look like the one in the photo below.
View attachment 159583

Just for future reference if you flip over the engine compartment fuse box lid, you will see the identification details so you can check in your owner’s manual.

WARNING
When you find the correct fuel pump relay do NOT try to start the engine even thou it will run for a few seconds and then stall because you have used the fuel in the feed line.
When you turn the ignition key to position II (ignition on) you should see the PGM-Fi indicator on the dash light up and extinguish. Exactly timed with this lamp, you should hear the relay click and the fuel pump turn on and off. If you do not hear a click and the fuel pump, then the main relay is likely to be at fault.
Hi Kev
I really appreciate you taking the time to do this mate, you have been a massive help many thanks mate, I will check again tomorrow.

Hi
CODE P16D3
I took the car to local garage. ( He did admit that the code reader he had was Old/Basic & it might not read the code accurately). So until my code reader arrives I decided to give it a go anyway & the code that he showed up was
CODE P16D3.
Does this mean anything to anybody.
Another thing might be worth a mention is that the car has become hard to start, It turns over ok but takes its time to fire up and run, once its running it idle's fine.
Thanks
Dave

Not sure about the code, but the hard start suggests a possible issue/fault with the glow-plug...
Morning Dark Knight Hope your well,
I mentioned that its harder to start to the mechanic, He thinks similar to you That it might be a Glow Plug sensor ??, (Keeping in mind that Last month i replace all the Glow Plugs for new)

Hi Dave,

The error code P16D3 relates to a glow plug fault and could well be what triggered your PGMFI fault icon on your dashboard.

Right – Did you check the main fuel pump relay as instructed in previous message, or was it to cold and you went down the garage for them to check for you?

Right need to start eliminating things >>> I know you said you have already replaced the glow plugs with new ones, BUT have you replaced your glow plug relay?
Hi Kev
I tried to have a look at the fuel pump relay as instructed, my Fuse box under dash is different to Dia, in position 1 - 2 are two different coloured relays Blue & Grey, position 3 is empty. I tried to listen as you asked, I can hear the pump prime but because of road works taking place down my street the volume levels are up & down so hard to hear for click (But i think you could be onto something with this Kev). I was going to ask Mechanic to check the fuel pump relay but he had only briefly called in to work to check mail, he was not officially opening until next week.

When replaced Glow plugs I did not replace Glow plug relay mate,

The Mechanic (John) has asked if I want to go next, Tuesday to see his friend who has a better Code Reader, (But Kev if the code showing that he has found already is correct) Im hoping we could be onto something with this.
If it calls for it I will replace both the Fuel Pump Relay & Glow Plug relay to be safe.

Thanks
Dave

Dave,

Change your glow plug relay and it is 100% located next to the fuse box on a little bracket in the engine compartment.

This LINK item number 26 is the glow plug relay

As an edit - Suggest you get the old relay tested before buying a new one.
Hi Kev
Thanks for reply, as soon as my mechanic friend gets his answer phone message & calls me back, I will ask him to order a Relay straight away
Thanks
Dave

Hi Dave,
Have you tried clearing the fault codes and see what comes back first?
Hi Kev
I have cleared fault codes & so far the dash has not shown up any fault codes, I have taken it for a short drive Im a bit surprised I thought it would have lit up again, but so far nothing,
I was going to leave it over night to allow everything to go cold & try again in morning to see what happens.
