Yes I've read that thread when I discovered the issue a few days after buying my new (to me) 3yr old Hybrid CRV. Tried using Carplay with Apple Maps and the guidance voice is no louder than the Garmin.

 

With CarPlay, adjust volume while navigation is giving directions or speaking.

 

One of my only real complaints. Also why it only comes out the drivers door. I’m partially deaf in that ear making it even harder to hear. All the more reason to get this stack of sound deadener installed.
