Hi folks

I done an oil change recently and noticed there was no plate to unscrew to access the sump and oil filter. There is the plastic surrounding and for the life of me I can’t find the model number. I have approached some Honda dealers in the UK, two are stating that the Honda CR-V SR petrol doesn’t have this part! That’s weird as surely there is access plate to protect the under side of the engine?
Does anyone know what I am referring too? I thought there would be an aluminium plate. A lot of people state this comes off if not properly installed and gets damaged.

there are various names: engine undercover, shield, lid etc. I’ve had no luck on eBay either as most the plates there are for for the pre2015 model.

If my memory serves me correct, my EX, 2.0 (2018 / Auto) never had this.

So it may well be the case that the petrol models didnt have them at all. Might be worth asking to see the undersides of a few 4th Gen petrol/diesel CR-Vs to see whether thats the case, or not.

(PS, please update your profile with your vehicle details :) )

Can owners of the petrol mark 4 confirm if the oil sump is exposed and it deffo doesn’t have a cover/lid?

looking at the plastic splash back there are holes for attaching something however this might just be generic.

weird if the engine cover Isn’t supposed to be protected for a modern car

We didn't design them. We just try to answer questions.

+++++++++++++++

Interesting tidbit: FWD HR-Vs have a full engine compartment undertray. AWD HR-Vs don't. The center section is 'left off' but you can see where the attachment hardware is supposed to be fitted. o_O 🥶

Is this an aerodynamic teak? The newest vehicles all seem to be designed 'smooth' underneath...
