Has anyone ever read the Honda Privacy statements? Here is an example of the Honda Canada statements (in your country it may vary): Honda Canada Privacy Policy | Honda Canada
It really is shocking the amount of personal information modern vehicles collect on their owners.

Here is very interesting article from Mozilla on cars and privacy: *Privacy Not Included: A Buyer’s Guide for Connected Products Their Honda specific review: *Privacy Not Included review: Honda

I've just recently initiated a service request with Honda Canada to opt-out of their vehicle data sharing/collection protocols. I only have a service desk ticket with no follow up as of yet, I expect it will be a long road to get any sort of changes made. I'll update as things progress.

Protect yo data!

I haven’t done anything interesting enough in the last 40 years to try and hide.

If you are really concerned about privacy then you need to find a nice, low mileage vehicle made before the turn of the century. May I suggest a 1987 Yugo. Guaranteed never to send any data back to the corporate office, partly because the Yugo has no capability to transmit data, and partly because the corporate office no longer exists.

Personally, I see nothing troubling about Honda's privacy polices. It is pretty standard, and is presented in a complete manner. Besides, Honda does NOT sell your data, unlike millions of other companies that do.

I would be much more worried about your email accounts, commerce transactions, and most importantly the APPs you install and use on your smart phone. And watch out for your making donations to any entity, because most of them will sell your data. Years ago I donated to a police association, and sure enough they sold my phone number and name to a truck ton of other police or law enforcement associations and I started getting spam calls periodically from a number of different law enforcement associations ... so NEVER again.
