Was at the dealer today for the two recalls and oil and filter change. Asked them to do the update for me. They advised me it is easy and I can do it at home. No, it’s not.

This is not the grill shutters update. I don’t have that in my car. Display in settings shows 1 update available. I go into settings. I am able to change network to my home network and enter my password. Then it’s a dead end . I get into an endless loop and can’t get to the download and install function.

My next option is to get a usb drive and download the update from Honda and install It. Has anyone successfully done a wireless update? I can’t believe I am the first to encounter this. Youtube has nothing helpful and google has insufficient information.

Not sure what you mean by Grill Shutters update. There has been nothing for my 6th Gen 2024 Hybrid Touring.

As for the infotainment system update, use this procedure:

To perform a wireless update using Wi-Fi on your 2023 Honda CR-V, follow these steps:
  1. Connect to Wi-Fi:
    • Press the Home button on your vehicle's infotainment system.
    • Select System Updates. If it's not displayed on the home screen, select All Apps.
    • Select Settings.
    • Select Connection Setup.
    • Choose your Wi-Fi network from the list and enter the password to connect.
  2. Check for Updates:
    • Once connected to Wi-Fi, the system will automatically check for updates.
    • If an update is available, the System Updates icon will show an exclamation point (!).
  3. Download and Install:
    • Select the System Updates icon.
    • Choose Download to start downloading the update.
    • Once the download is complete, you can choose to Install Now or Install While Vehicle Off.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
  4. Automatic Updates (Optional):
    • You can enable automatic updates by going to System Updates > Settings > Automatic Download and selecting Enable.
Make sure your vehicle is parked in a safe location with a strong Wi-Fi signal during the update process.

Thanks for your assistance Max. The problem is in item 1 ”Select connection setup”. My home network is not displayed in the ”Choose your Wi-Fi connection from the list “. At that point I have to select network connection. My home connection appears on the infotainment screen. I select my network and enter my password. Dead end after that. Can’t go any further.

Just had a similar issue. Took a while putting around but it looks like it was connected to car play and couldn’t establish the connection. Doesn’t really make sense since CarPlay is blue tooth.

But I set my phone to provide a hotspot. Tried to connect to that. It failed then I went back to the wifi and selected that. It connected and after a couple minutes it proceeded. I guess it needed a wifi connection reset but I didn’t see the option for that.

It sounds like you're encountering a common issue with the Wi-Fi setup on your 2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid Touring. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:
  1. Restart the Infotainment System: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues. Turn off your vehicle, wait a few minutes, and then turn it back on.
  2. Forget and Reconnect to the Network:
    • Go to Settings > Connection Setup.
    • Select your home network and choose Forget Network.
    • Reconnect to your home network by selecting it from the list and entering the password again.
  3. Check Wi-Fi Signal Strength: Ensure that your vehicle is parked in an area with a strong Wi-Fi signal. Weak signals can cause connectivity issues.
  4. Update Infotainment System: Make sure your infotainment system software is up to date. You can check for updates by going to Settings > System Updates.
  5. Reset Network Settings: If the above steps don't work, you can try resetting the network settings on your infotainment system:
    • Go to Settings > System > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
    • Reconnect to your home network after the reset.

For the 6th generation Honda CR-V, ECU updates cannot be performed directly through the infotainment system. These updates typically require a visit to the dealership, where specialized equipment and software are used to ensure the update is applied correctly and safely.
However, you can perform system updates for the infotainment system itself via Wi-Fi or USB. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Connect to Wi-Fi: Press the Home button on your vehicle's infotainment system. Select System Updates. If it's not displayed on the home screen, select All Apps, then Settings, and Connection Setup. Choose your Wi-Fi network from the list and enter the password to connect.
  2. Check for Updates: Once connected to Wi-Fi, the system will automatically check for updates. If an update is available, the System Updates icon will show an exclamation point (!).
  3. Download and Install: Select the System Updates icon. Choose Download to start downloading the update. Once the download is complete, you can choose to Install Now or Install While Vehicle Off. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

I never had to manually do an update in my Jeep Grand Cherokee...they were automatic. I've only done one update in my '23 Sport Touring, and it was a pain. There has been another update needing to be installed, but I tried and failed. I'll try again, but it would be nice if Honda would make it where the updates are automatically downloaded and installed without us having to connect to Wi-Fi or our phone's hotspot (had to do that for the first and only update I've done so far).
